DCFS Foster Care Rites of Passage Program - Services foster and probation
youth to transition from childhood to adulthood.
Oasis - (Opening Avenues to Stay in School) - Aids young people who have
dropped out of school to return to school and graduate.
Transitional Housing - Housing for Foster Youth 18 years +.
Rites to Success - School Based Rites of Passage programs currently
offered in multiple school districts.
Fathering Behind Bars - Helping inmates keep their relationships with
their sons and daughters while they are incarcerated.
Martial Arts Classes - Kumite Ryu Jujitsu and Rites of Passage workshops
are offered free for the community.
Rites of Passage Consulting - Rites of Passage workshop and presentations
offered nationally and internationally.
Rites of Passage TOT (training of Trainers) - Intensive training provided
for organizations and communities seeking to be certified in implementing the
Rites of Passage curriculum and program.
National Youth Congress - NFLEC's Youth leadership model is implemented in
conjunction with the Indiana Black Expo, and has over 500 youth representing
over 15 different states, which are active in their respective communities,
and meet once a year to discuss youth issues and best practices nationally.
Community Collaborations - NFLEC is involved in numerous collaborations
around pregnancy prevention, violence prevention, and leadership

Rites of Passage Abstinence-only programs - NFLEC believes that abstinence
is the only sure way to protect our kids from the life-threatening effects of
pre-marital sex to the body, mind, and spirit. NFLEC currently teaches
abstinence-only in its programs.
Rites of Passage Marriage Programs - Pre-marital counseling, marriage
counseling, marriage workshops, and much more are forthcoming. NFLEC will be
celebrating Black Marriage Day, March 23, 2004.
Sankofa Preparatory Academy - NFLEC Finished the planning grant for a
charter school, and is preparing to open a charter school for grades K-12,
within the next three to five years.
Franchising - NFLEC currently has a northern California office and a
southern California office. By 2005, NFLEC will have an east coast office, and
a south coast office.
