Charles Lee-Johnson

Charles Lee-Johnson is the Executive Director of National Family Life and Education Center, carrying on the legacy of his father, Ron Johnson, founder of National Family Life and Education Center and the Ten Step Rites of Passage Program. Mr. Lee-Johnson is the chief facilitator of the Sankofa Preparatory Academy Charter School Advisory Board, and provides consultation and training services, both locally, and nationally. Mr. Lee-Johnson has received commendation from the County of Los Angeles, the City Los Angeles, California Assembly, California Senate, Los Angeles Unified School District, National Association of Social Workers (NASW) region H, and Department of Children and Family Services. His work has been featured in several newspapers, newscasts, and radio productions.

Mr. Lee-Johnson is unequivocally committed to the positive development of young people, families, and communities. In a very short time, Mr. Lee-Johnson's work has touched the lives of parents, youths, and organizations throughout the United States. His ability to integrate his professional knowledge with practical skills enables him to effectively work with diverse populations. Mr. Lee-Johnson's enthusiasm and wealth of knowledge, makes him one of the most dynamic and inspirational social workers in America.

Mr. Lee-Johnson was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Dorsey High School, and completed his undergraduate studies with a B.A. degree in Sociology form Morehouse College. Mr. Lee-Johnson graduated Cum Laude, President of Morehouse Sociological Association, and was inducted into the National Sociological Honor's Society, Alpha Kappa Delta. Mr. Lee-Johnson returned to Los Angeles in May of 1997, before leaving for a three-week study in Egypt. Upon his return to the United States, National Family Life and Education Center hired Mr. Lee-Johnson. In October 1997, Charles Lee-Johnson received his License to Preach in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. In June of 2001, Mr. Lee-Johnson received his Masters of Social Welfare from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Workshops

Mr. Lee-Johnson has facilitated various workshops throughout the United States for professionals, Para-professionals, community activists, parents, teachers, and youth. Workshop topics include, but are not limited too; self-esteem, goal setting, leadership skills, conflict management, cultural diversity, teamwork, emotional mastery, fatherhood, marriage, Rites of Passage, youth development, working with angry teens, and much more.

Workshops are informative, interactive, and interesting. Mr. Lee-Johnson's message and style enhance conferences, retreats, seminars, and training's throughout the nation.

Training's

1 Day and 5 Day trainings are available in the Ten Step Rites of Passage model. The Ten Step Rites of Passage program, founded by the late Ron Johnson, is one of the most dynamic and comprehensive youth development programs in the nation, and the world. Currently, the program is featured in over five states, numerous cities, and sites in London England. The program is currently being requested in New Zealand, The Bahamas, and Haiti. The Ten Step Rites of Passage program has received local, sate, and national commendation.

1 Day Training

1 day trainings are designed to give trainees an orientation of the Rites of Passage Program. The training is a 6-8 hour course that provides an overview of the Ten Rites. Trainees will be informed and inspired to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of leading youth and families to empowerment.

5 Day Training

This comprehensive, 40 hour course, is an intense training designed to certify trainees to administer the Ten Step Rites of Passage model in their respective city/state/country. Trainees will get a full curriculum (with over 350 interactive workshops used in the Rites of Passage program), a certificate of completion, a wealth of knowledge, and future support in the set-up of their program. Trainees have all described their training experience as "life changing". Community-Based organizations, and Faith Communities will undoubtedly see their work with youth and families reach unimaginable and immeasurable heights after completing the training. School Assemblies

Mr. Lee-Johnson has a passion for young people, and a message that penetrates the hearts of students that some may consider unreachable. Mr. Lee-Johnson has done school assemblies across the nation, in urban, suburban, and rural, elementary, middle, and high schools. Topics include, but are not limited too; self-esteem, cultural diversity, abstinence, substance abuse prevention, violence prevention, peer pressure, and leadership.

We encourage all organizations to maximize Mr. Lee-Johnson's time as he visits various cities and states. Therefore, multiple speaking engagements are encouraged. All scheduling and finances are handled through the office, as Mr. Lee-Johnson's primary focus is on enhancing the quality of life, and spending time with his respective audiences.

Please call in advance, as Mr. Lee-Johnson is in high demand, and often has events scheduled into the forthcoming year.

National Family Life & Education Center has other speakers, both male and female, who are dynamic presenters. We are eager to share our message of encouragement, empowerment, and education with the world.
